Human Rights Lawyer Amal Clooney Calls for Arrest Warrants

ICC Chief Prosecutor Seeks to Put Israeli PM on Par with Putin and Hamas

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of war crimes. The court's chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, has recommended that arrest warrants be issued against Netanyahu and other Israeli officials for alleged war crimes committed during the 2014 Gaza War.

Bensouda's recommendation is based on a lengthy investigation that concluded that there is a "reasonable basis" to believe that war crimes were committed by both Israeli and Palestinian forces during the conflict. The investigation found that Israeli forces may have committed war crimes by intentionally targeting civilians and using excessive force. Palestinian forces are accused of using child soldiers and firing rockets indiscriminately into civilian areas.

Netanyahu has denounced the ICC's accusations as "baseless" and has vowed to fight them. He has also accused the court of being biased against Israel.
